What is Drug Addiction
A chronic, relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive drug seeking, continued use despite harmful consequences, and long-lasting changes in the brain.
Drug addiction is a use of substances which affect body functions in a negative way and not quitting those substances despite their harm. An addicted person experiences deprivation symptoms when s/he discontinues. In time, s/he increases dose and frequency of substance consumption.
